Beit Berl College: The Time Tunnel Program

Beit Berl College: The Time Tunnel Program

The Time Tunnel is a contemporary history program that initiated in Beit Berl College and teaches Arab and Jewish students to become gatherers of oral histories, focusing on the history of everyday life: where people worked, the tools they used, the food they ate, the medical care they received or created for themselves.
By sharing the stories and the history of the two communities and the region, students learn the realities of one another's life in a narrative framework.
The prospect of the program is to initiate and guide research projects of everyday lives in Jewish and Arab schools throughout the country with the participating of pupils and community member. Another goal, that is already in the process, is to build a national data base of contemporary histories of all ethnic groups in Israel.
