Windows - Channels for Communication

Windows - Channels for Communication

Windows conducts long-term, multi-phase educational programs for youth. The programs listed below are among the organization's main current efforts to empower Arab youth in Israel with the knowledge, skills, and tools to be active for positive change. Windows recognizes the importance of engaging youth from these communities, both to enhance the level of representation that is necessary in a healthy democracy, as well as to close the gaps, educational and otherwise, that have developed between Israeli and Arab youth because of budget and other investment disparities. Windows is eager to expand the reach of the four programs listed below into Arab-Israeli schools/communities it has worked with in the past, as well as to new communities that have expressed an interest. Furthermore, when possible, it conducts outreach campaigns in pursuit of recruitment, in cooperation with Windows' key contacts in those communities. Window's school workshop program, for example, is one way to establish communal interest for the development of further, more long-term programming for youth in the community.

Some of the Arab schools the organization either currently work with or have worked with in the past include: Makif lud, Makif Ramla Makif Tarshiah, Mailia High School, Ort Acco, Sahnin al Hukuma, Sahnin Al Khaya, Kufe Manda, Be'eina High School, Bir Maksur High School, Um Al Fahem Junior High School, Zarzir Junior High School, Ibn Sina Nazareth, Amal Taybeh, the Orthodox School in Haifa and communities in the Negev, including Rahat. Future projects in Jaffa schools (Ironi Yud Bet, Ajial, Tera Santa, Amal) and the communities of Shkeb a-Salam, Hawashle, Kseifa, Arara and more await funding.
