The Hadassah Foundation welcomes Sari Revkin (Executive Director of "Yedid") and Helmi Kittani (Director of CJAED)

The following two events took place at the Hadassah Foundation:

  • May 14: Economic Empowerment for Women through Financial Literacy with Sari Revkin, Executive Director of Yedid

Yedid ("friend" in Hebrew) received grants from The Hadassah Foundation for a program that trains low-income women in financial planning. Yedid was established in 1997 to promote social justice in Israel through a national network of Citizen Rights Centers in disadvantaged communities throughout Israel. It is the only national organization in Israel that empowers Israelis to break the cycle of poverty through free individual legal and social assistance, community education initiatives and grassroots organizing for social change.

  • May 19: Jewish-Arab Cooperation in Women's Business Initiatives in Israel with Helmi Kittani, Director of the Center for Jewish-Arab Economic Development

The Center for Jewish-Arab Economic Development (CJAED) received grants from The Hadassah Foundation to provide low-income women with business skills training, to encourage Jewish and Arab Israeli women to work together on business initiatives, and to promote networking opportunities for women business owners. They also educate about the effect of government policies on women's businesses. CJAED is a non-profit organization, established in 1988 by a group of Jewish and Arab businesspeople. The guiding principle of the Center and its activities is that Jewish-Arab economic cooperation in Israel is essential for peace, prosperity and economic stability in Israel and the region at large.

The Hadassah Foundation enables Hadassah to address unmet societal needs in Israel and the United States and to engage in cutting-edge initiatives outside the framework of Hadassah's existing projects. More specifically, the Foundation funds projects that serve women and girls from diverse cultural groups within Israel and the Jewish community in the United States.
