Speaker Tour: Prof. Mohammed Wattad | Arab Citizens and Israel’s Jewish and Democratic Balance

On September 29, Prof. Wattad, the first Muslim Dean of a law school in Israel, spoke at the Washington Hebrew Congregation about Israel’s balance as a Jewish and democratic state, and the challenges of identity and nationality of Israel’s Arabs. In the aftermath of the recently passed Nation-State Law, Prof. Wattad discussed the mutual obligations and responsibilities of a state and its citizens, and how these apply in the case of Arab citizens in the state of the Jewish people.
